It's a Tally Board for the play 1776, with 13 sliding tiles to slide to the Yea or Nay side to show votes. The two colony 'plaques' in that last picture have already been stained to the Black Walnut the rest of the trim will hopefully become.
It's coming along. I thought I'd be done and have already carried it over to the church, mowed the yard, raked the moss, and moved the wood pile. Sadly, this is what happens when a perfectionist goes into the workshop.
